RADIATION DICIDENT AT LASL

LeCompte called at 3:L0 pom., dune 22, to report that in Bayou Canyon,
during @ rela experiment on dime 21, @ piece of blotting paper being
used "blew around the room” and 10 persens, including a ZIA janitor,:
were exposed to radiation.
Immediate checks at health center showed that none “needed medical
attention", and all were within permissible limits. Pressed for details, LeCompte said two of the ten involved got the “maximum” dose
and could not return to this particular work.
Neither LASL or ALOO will issue an announcement of this incident but
will answer inquiries by confirming, and if necessary, giving names of
persons involved. Most likely inquiry will come from the Sante Fe New
Mexican reporter at Los Alamos.
