JUL 2& 1952 “2+ Brig. Gen. a. E. Fields organizations should be separate insofar as actual official activation of the AEC groups in the line of command is concerned. Certainly each needs the other for operational planning and to execute approved requirements generated by the other, but there 4s no apparent need for administrative and planning control of LASL and SFO groups by the Task Force during this period. Coordination of planning and logistic requirements is a necessity, but we think this can be easily accomplished with designated liaison channels between J-Division-SFOO and the Task Force. In addition, it will tend to. mitigate the perhaps unintended encroachment of the Task Force into fields which are strictly AEC responsibilities and its consequences of irritation and tension between parties. p epartment of Energy > Historian’s Office Enclosure: a Organization chart (in trip.) tn E. ‘\ ARCHIVES ~— , CHP ZAI EA he-lrajehe . t- ‘ otf via ° ° 9 fF Zt ps ’ .= ee er BEST AVAILABLE COPY non| (Ht
