1951 Tests

Admiral Parsons reviewed the organizational planning within the
Military Establishment for the 1951 tests and outlined present concep-

tions of the nature of the tests and the kinds of measurements which
will be made, In response to the question as to why the tests should not
be held after 1951, Admiral Parsons stated that he believed that from

the standpoint of production and future capability, the sooner the test

was held the better for all concerned,

He stated in addition, that there

wasnot adequate time for preparation,planning, ‘andfull capitalization ©

on results of SANDSTONEif the test should be held prior to1951.
