I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your hospitality and assistance to me on my recent visit to Saipan. As Mr. Norwood suggested, I am writing you directly in regard to the arrangements for the medical survey at Rongelap next March. I believe we had gone over the plans for the survey in regard to Trust Territory assistance, including personnel, fairly thoroughly, but IT will outline them again. The survey would take place on around March 1, 1967 and require about two weeks at Rongelap, one week at Fheye, and several days at Majuro. In addition to the personnel I requested of you last month, I would like to request an additional man. In view of the fact that we would like to carry out a chest survey this year, L am afraid Mr. Libby will be overburdened with this in addition to his photographic workload. Therefore, you will note in the list below I am requesting also an x-ray technician, if it is possible for you to furnish one.
