waa spent in unloading,warehousing, inventorying,and loading of supplies
for use by constructionpersonnel.

Work w Contractor
a.

It would be wrong and Unjust if this report ignored the major

contributionsmade by the Navy contractor,the Byrnes Organization. The
operations of this contractorwere essential to the aucoeasful completion
of the taak.
b. The contractor asaieted our program in two major ways$
(1) He furnished conorete, built showers and heada, and
supplied carpenters and plunbera. This he waa required
to do by extension to his contract. This exteneionwas
given by Navy ●t Taak Force request.

Navy obtained the

neoesaary funds and handled contract supervisionand
administration.
(2) The oontract already protided for a waterborne eewage
system, improvementsto the bruckish water supply, and
