Air Micronesia is conducting a
broad program of training for eventual
placement of Micronesian employees
in all phases of its operations.
Another aspect of Air Micronesia’s
service in the Territory is tourism. The
airline plans to build a hotel in each
district and to contribute to tourist
development through advertising and
promotion.
A commercial air taxi passenger and
cargo-carrying charter aircraft company operates on a non-scheduled
basis between Guam and Saipan and
between Guam and Yap, Ulithi, Palau,
and Truk.
The government, in coordination
with the Federal Aviation Administration,
is
continuing
a
program
to
improve landing fields and ground
services as well as navigational aids and
communications facilities in each
district.
