SUBJECT: AEC REENTRY RIGHT TO EPG
On June 20, 1960 General Starbird again discussed with Chairman
McCone the question of how AEC's reentry right to EPG should be
defined.
In particular, should the basis be the text in Chairman
MeCone's June 3 letter to Secretary Gates, or does the basis
need redefinition? Chairman McCone confirmed that the AEC
reentry right as described in the June 3 letter, extracted below,
is sat&sfactory.
",..- We would intend to include in the agreement recognition in
principle that the AEC could use the EPG for any activity which
it might later need to conduct there if it is accomplished without
cost to the DOD, and without interference with your essential
activities there,"
