Dear Dr. Conards
‘Reference ig made to your letter of 29 December 1967 requesting entry
to Kwajalein for the AKC medical team in which you indicated that a frece
lance photographer, Mr. Clayton Jay Price vould accompany the tean.
It has come to my attention that this office does not have the
authority to grant a clearance for Mr. Price to visit Kwajalein. Our
agreement with AEC only covers support of the medical teum. Photographers
and reporters mist be cleared by the Department of Defense, ATTN: Mr. Phil
Goulding, Assistant Secretary of Defense, Public Affaire, Washington, D. C.
The individuals Listed below are authorized to yisit Kvajaleia during
the period 21 February 1968 through 23 March 1968 in connection with the
annual medical gurvey of the Marshallese people:
