The second matter concerns the use of land by Brookhaven/AEC
on Rongelap. It appears from records in the Land Management
Office in the Marshalls, that the only land lease negotiated
with the people of Rongelap was for the since-abandoned RadSafe
site at the end of the island.
Payments are no longer made
for this site. We wish to know, consequently, if you have any
knowledge of any lease or rent arrangements for the land present-
ly occupied by the trailers and other structures on Rongelap used
by Brookhaven.

Although neither of the above requests are urgent, it would be
appreciated if we could have some kind of response within the
next three weeks.
