Harley In the work of the United Nations Scientific Committee on the ffects of Atomic Radiation, the major effort in evaluating fallout from weapons tests is directed towards estimating the dose commitment. A major contributor to bone dose is strontium-90 but there have not been adequate data for many regions in the world. The Committee de- cided that it would be useful to have even limited data for portions of the world not otherwise covered. It was agreed that some estimate could be made based on a small number Of samples of adult bone and they requested the World Health Organization to assist in procuring samples. Dr. E. I. The samples are being analyzed by the Health and Safety Laboratory and the results are pre~ sented here as a tabulation of the available data.
