The draft GAO Report, “Observations on the Project co Cleanup,
Rehabilitate and Resetcle Enewetak Atoll" was reviewed with
interest by apprepriace offices of this Department. While
the report addresses itself primarily to the cleanup program
which is being carried out by the Deparemenct of Defense (DNA),
ic is recognizea that che renabilitatio.1 and resettlement aspects
cannot Se diverced from the basic cleanup aspects.
Our comments have been divided iaro two sections, one waich
deals wich tne recommendations cthac relate to the renabdilitacion
aspects, the ocher lists corrections for the text of the report.
