Finally, the individual data. not presented
here, clearly illustrates that at least 19& of the
Bikint residents would have received annual
dose equivalents in excess of 5 mSv (0.5 rem)
dueto the ingestion of Cs had the April 1978
activity ingestion rate of ""Cs continued. This
dose equivalent level does not include the dose
equivalent from external radiation or other
internally deposited radioactive material.
Removal of the Bikini population from Bikini
Atoll eliminated the °’Cs source term from the
diet and limited the dose equivalent received
by this population.
