—dJocal fallout into a sector located between the northeast and east, toward the unin-
habited atoils in the Acteon group.
The Gambier [slands—Mangareva with only 400 inhabitants 265 miles east. southeast
of the firing pomt and Turcia with 80 inhabitants 80 miles north northeast of the
firing point --arc.outside the predicted sector of local or distant fallout.
