Adm, Tyree said that the survey of the Danger Area should proceed as soon
as possible in order that the area can be disestablished concurrently with
Johnston Island, This covld be as early as 11 August and all work shouldeproceed on that schedule. This survey would be made using the USS COLLETT
(DD~730).
The balance of the Program )0 surveys would be handled as planned
using the USS SILVERSTEIN (DE-53h).
This means that the equipment must be
installed on the COLL:TT, removed and re-installed on the SILVaRsTSIn,
Adm. Tyree directed that as soon as instructions were received from Progran
4O (in answer to our messages disnatched yesterday) that the installations
should be made on the COLLATTr,
Al Klenent talked with Dr, Donaldson via phone last night and Donaldson
said the Program people would be here early next week and the survey would
be completed by the llth of Aucust.
