The radioactive decay of algae and sand collected in the bottom of
the lagoon was the same atall stations tested.
The decay rates of deep-
water algae were similar to those of shallow-water samples.
These
data indicate that the radionuclides found in the sand were the same as
those in the deep-water and shallow-water algae.
