TASK GROUP 132.2 PARTICIPATION I¥ KING AVONT In preparation for "KING" event the Commander issued Operational Directive No. 3, This directive was written to cover the activities of the Task Group through 13 November which had been designated as Ki ay. To support the overall Task Force nission, TG 132.2 was assiged the following taska: & Support CTG 132.1 in the conduct of his mission. b. Provide for the ground security of Eniwetok Atoll, during the period of KING event. c. Operate the signal communications systen. dad. Be prepared to evacuate personnel from Eniwetok Island as may be directed by CITE. e. . , Accomplish measures for protection of TG 132.2 material and equipment. f. Be prepared to conduct decontamination of Bniwetok Island in ‘the event of fall-out. g. Provide for the radiological safety of personnel based on Eniwetok Island assisted by CPE 132.4.1,2 e Preparation for KING day was relatively simple because evacuation of island was not required, ~ A special sefety bulletin was issued which _ apecified personnel safety measures to be adopted and also provided warning signals to indicate hoo necessity for an emergency evecuation in | the event of adverse radiological conditions arising after KING shot. 9 November 1952 was KX Day. _. All rehearsal activities were implemented, including a test of all communication systems to be used on EK Day. A Aa security sweep of the Atoll was conducted.
