"Betts pointed out that no provision is made in the Project Dribble
subsequent to FY62.
The General Manager said that he felt that in view
of the priorities within the testing program and the provisions made for
tests in the budget projections, Dribble had insufficient priority to be
included at this time.
Mr. Haworth commented on the importance of
gaining further information on the de-coupling phenomena in order to have
such information on hand in the event general diaarmament. or test ban
treaty is signed.
He urged the weapons program projecttons include
at least funds for one Dribble experiment beyond FY62.
Following brief
remarks the Commission requests the inclusion of 15 million dollars
for projects Dribble-Vela within the FY64-67 budget projections for
the weapons program."'
4n interesting item in the minutes of meeting #1850 says ''Mr. Hollingsworth
in‘ormed the Commission that the Department of Justice will seek an
injunction against the sailing of "very manI into the Dominic test area
today, May 23, 1962."
At Meeting #1582 on 6 June, the General Manager informed the Commissioners
that Bill Ogle would be available in the afternoon for a briefing on Cperation
Dominic,
but I don't find any record of such a meeting pr briefing in
either the meeting minutes or the special summary reports of special
meetings.
