Dear Allen:
This is to inform you of the present status of ny
plans for attending the forthcoming series of nuclear
teats at the Pacific Proving Ground.
As I indicated to you previously, I plan to make the
trip in the last two weeks of June. It now appears
that I will depart Washington on about June 15 so as
to arrive in the forward area at a tine to permit
witnessing the detonation of one of our megaton test

of three days spent en route Iniwetok, with overnight
stops at Travis Air Force fase in California and
Hickam Air force Base in Hawaii, a stay of four days
in the Pacifile Proving Ground area, and a period of
four days spent on the return trip.
Ail told, the
time away from Washington will te about eleven or
twelve days.
My staff is making necessary arrangements for the
trip, and I will provide you with further information
as it, becomes available.
X am happy that your present plans will persit you
to make the trip with ne.
