I don't mean a controlling organization; it would be more a coordinating agency.
Mr. Holland:
I believe ultimately one of these existing inter-agency groups would come into the picture.
But, rather
than look at the organization of the government to find a place to plug in such a group and then hold this meeting
over again to educate these people, I suggest that those of us who do represent a Washington office agency get
together after this meeting to discuss these problems, make recommendations as to how we might keep in touch
with each other, and establish some ground rules in this area.
The Federal Radiation Council, the Federal
Council for Science and Technology, and the National Science Foundation should be made cognizant of this problem,
But those of us who know about it, I think, should be in touch with each other independent of the formal
organization,
Dr. Shreve:
I don't think we can begin to propose concretely in this offhand manner.
I am convinced that there are
some powerful ideas here that need careful evaluation and careful attention, and I think it is a good note on
which to declare our session adjourned with my most warm thanks to all of you for being with us.
