The subject discussed was what to do about Mr. Murray's appeal for a strong statement on the importance of maintaining the tempo of the Program atomic energy program. . The members present agreed unanimously that such a statement should be written. The sense of the statement was to be thatthe. AEC is in a period of very vigorous growth and development, and promises to strengthen the United States and increase the national welfare. | It is important, in the opinion of the GAC, that this be continued with unabated vigor, in spite of budget stringencies.
