Scope of Instructions:
(1)
This operation plan covers the period of: operations from:
the time major elements of Joint Task Force SEVEN aré deployed in the for=
ward area until the completion of one=site operations,. It supports Command~
er Joint Task Force SEVEN (CJTF SEVEN) Operation Plan 3~53' and is publish~
ed at this time for planning purposes only, It is subject’ to periodic
revisions as more detailed information becomes available, When so direct~
ed by the Commander Task Group 7.2 (CTG 7,2), this planwill become effect~
ive as an operation order covering overall on-site operations of this
Task Group and will supersede CTG 7.2 Operation Order 1-530
(2) "Forward Ares", as the term is used in this plan, is
defined as that area encompassing the MARSHALL TSLANDS .

"ENIWSTOK/BLKINE Danger’ Area't, as the tela is used in
this plan, is that area encompassing

bounded by the meridians 160935! = 166°16! east longitude, |and by the
parallels 10°15! — 12°45! north latitude (an area of 150 by 350 miles),
(4) "Closed Area", as the term is used in this plan, is de-
fined as including the land areas of ENIWETOK and BJKINI ATOLLS, the «ater
areas of the respective lagoons and the waterareas within 'three (3) miles
to the seaward side of the respective land areas,

In accordance with directives of the JointChiefs of
Staff (JCS), Commander Joint Task Force SEVEN (CUTF SEVEN) will conduct
tests of experimental weapons and devices on Eniwetok and Bikini Atolis
early in 1954,

(2) The function of CTG 7.2 as Atoll Commander Eniwetok and
Bikini Atolls (ATCOM ENIWETOK) passes to CUJTF SEVEN upon the concentration
of,forces of JTF SEVEN in the forward area and upon arrivalof CJTF SEVEN
in the forward area,
