AIR DEFENSE

GENERAL:
a,
Purpose: This annex sets forth guidance andassignment of
responsibilitzes for air defense within Task Group 7,2,
b, Nature of Hostile Air Threat: The enemy's capabilities to
launch an attack by aircraft against Eniwetok and Bikini Atolls are
covered in annex C, Intelligence.
c.
Concept of Air Defense Operation:
(1)
CTG 7.2 has no organic means at his disposal for pro-
secuting active air defense. Any active defense measures for protection
of the Enivretok and Bikini Atolls must come from friendly forces 6f JTF
SEVEN and CINCPAC.

Lacking active air defense means, all air defense

Because of large density of population on the islands

d, Air Raid WarningConditions: The following air raid warning
conditions are defined and established far all elements of the Pacific
Command and apply therefore to Task Group 7.2,
(1) Warning Yollow:
Air attack probable.»

craft are in the air defense arca, and the situation is evaluated as "Air
attack likely",

Warning Red:

Air or guided missile attack imminent.
