This report is the Draft Environmental Impact
Statement (DEIS)
for the proposed actions at the U.S.
Army Kwajalein Atoll (USAKA). The proposed action would
include continuation of current activities at USAKA and
planned non-Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI)
activities as well as proposed SDI activities. The U.S.
Army Strategic Defense Command will conduct two public
hearings as part of the environmental impact analysis
process. The close of the public comment period on the
DEIS is August 7, 1989. The comments received during the
public hearings, as well as written comments received
during the public-comment period, will be used to
develop the final environmental impact statement which
is scheduled to be published in October 1989.
