as principal point of contact within this office for al] matters
pertaining to the Marshal] Islands Research Vessel. Nr. Ray wil]
be assisted by our Pacific Area Suprert Office (PASO) as required.
User raquirements are being developed through direct contact with
Or. Conard at BNL and Br. Helfrich at the university|of tlawalf.
Approortate contacts will be made also with LLL, PRC and the tat
versity of washington.
Prolininary liaison has been established
with the Martne Depar trent at kveadalcin ano further discussions are
scheduled there during the week of Aggus é 27. hese should result
in a clearer understanding of tha surport which may be avaflable at
that facility and should assist in the selection of @ candidate
hull type. It is expected that discussions with the Navy will commence early in September.
Confirming telephone conversations between Me. Ray and Or. Barr,
planning progress wilt be discussed with Br. Serr and others inter-
ested at the September 24 meeting of the Radiological Assessment
Review Group.
