Teletypes.
Teletype service was furnished at both locations for the
entire TG andaccounted for the greatest portion of the total work load.
During Redwing, the following teletype traffic was handled by the twooffices:

Official Currespundence and Personal Mail,
The TG Mail and Records
Section normally handled official correspondence only for LASL, NRL, and
UWF. Nowever, service was provided for UCRL, DOD, SC and EG&G until
these organizations had their cwn mail system in operation. Personal mai)
was handicd in a Hike manner.
InteratollMail. The TG 7.1 Mail and Records Section opcrated a daily
perch beiween the mail revoms at Eniwetux and Bikini Atolls. This service
was avallable to all units of the TG and permitted the rapid transmission of
unclassified and classified (up to and Including Secret RD) correspondence
lctween sites.
Reading File, A TG Rewling File was maintained by the Parry Island
office. This file consisted of copies of outgoing correspondence ord teletypes, and was elreulated emeog the headeuarters staff sections,

Other Communications
The CJTF 7 assigned the following cornmunication responsibilities to
TG 7.1 for Operation Redwing:
a.
Provide, cperate, and maintain special communications~electronics
equipment required for conduct of scientific test programs,
b.
Initiate voice-time broadcast for all elements of the Task Force,
c.
Prepare a TG 7.1 Telephone Directory.

In onler to cHminate mutual interference on long range circuits, the
receiving antenna farm was moved from Eniwetok Island to Jnptan Island
