AOS RB 2 UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON SEATTLE, WASHINGTON98195 College of Fisheries October 3, 1974 Laboratory of Radiation Ecology Mr. William B, Hillis, Manager U. S. Atomic Energy Commission Pacific Area Support Office P. O. Box 9186 Honolulu, Hawaii 96820 Dear Mr. Hills: The plans of the Laboratory of Radiation Ecology for participating in the scheduled cruises of the LCR out of Kwajalein have been changed as follows: 1. The Laboratory will not participate in the scheduled cruise of 18 October - 8 November to Bikini. Originally, we had planned to participate jointly with the Puerto Rico Nuclear Center on this cruise. 2. The Laboratory would like to send two persons (Dr. Victor Nelson, Mr. Arthur Johnson) on the cruise to Utirik, Rongelap and Bikini, scheduled for 24 November to about 14 December. During this trip, we would like to stop for one day at both Rongerik and Ailingnae Atolls. These arrangements have been discussed with, and tentatively approved by, Mr. Streenan and Drs. Conard and Greenhouse. 3. Also, the Laboratory would like to have one person (Dr. Nelson) participate in the Bikini part of Dr. Conard's March field trip. This suggestion has also been discussed with Streenan, Conard and Greenhouse, and meets their approval. Sincerely yours, Lilyn Seger AHS: ah cc: Mr. Roger Ray Allyn H.
