from a minimum of 0.051 wc/kg of ash near the south edge of the
atoll, to a maximum of 0.28 wco/kg near Eniaetok Island.
Total beta
activity in the upper meter of lagoon bottom was estimated to exceed
20,000 curies in August 1958.
Activities in plankton and in bottom
samples were not significantly correlated.
