May 9, K 1977 Dr. Robert A. Conard Senior Scientist’ Medical Research Center Brookhaven National Laboratory Upton, New York 11973 Dear Bob: As I promised in my last letter, results for the urine samples of Drs. the Pu-239,240 bioassSay have finally been completed. Each of these samples was spiked with a small amount of Pu-242 in order to determine plating and chemical recoveries. For Dr. was 0.00140.004 dpm/l and for Dr. AS you can see, both values can he the final result as 0.02540.023 dpm/1. considered zero, results which are not surprising considering external. counting data and length of exposure. Americium-241 was not measured in these samples as it. involved some additional chemistry and it was assuined that Pu-239 would be the nuclide of greatest amount. I hope this interest and present in the information has been of help to your studies. Very truly yours, ION NT” Norman Cohen, Assistant Ph.D. Professor NC/j PRIVACY ACT MATERIAL REMOVED wh ye by mop oa. ’ cy 5011283 ra
