DRAFT MEMORANDUM TO MANAGER OF SANTA FE
DIRECTED OPERATIONS FROM TEST DIRECTOR.
1.
Of thirty accommedations available for observers to
witness the conduct of experiments during Operation SANDSTONE,
the Commission has authorized the allocation of fifteen spaces
to Santa Fe Directed Operations including the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory,
These fiftcen spaces wiil be reserved continu-
ously during the time experiments are in progress; hence,
if
it
is desired to alternate observers a greater number than fifteen
may witness a part of the cxperiments.
2.
It has been recommended to the Commission and to Com-
mander Joint Task Force Seven that observers be selected from
those individuals whose duties include the need for the knowledge
of,
and the need to act on,
the information obtained at the Prov-
ing Ground.
