August 6, 1952 Memo to 1 The photedosimetry of IVY is an impertant problem which mst be put underway in the near future. Films have been ordered, bat the technique of thelr use and the mode of interpretation have not ween decided upon yet. A conference on photodosimetry is, therefore, being called, sponsored by the Biophysics and Radiation Instruments uranches, for the latter part of this month. This will be the first of what will orobably be a series of special conferences locking Zeward the greater unification of technique, standards of calibration, and interpretation of film badge resulta. It ia hoped that eventually a reasonable degree of unanimity may be achieved both with respect to olant operation and the conduct of photedosisetry in weapons tests.
