many aircraft were already airborne.

Several aircraft were thus forced by a lack of fuel to return to Zuiwetok Island before completing their mission.
The B-36 effects aircraft participation in NECTAR was normal and
routine.
No unusual observations were made, except that the shock wave
was very sbarp and of shorter duration than on previous shots.

The only visual damage consisted of slight bomb bay
dishing, and crushing of the sheet retal strip that seals the gap be-
tween the doors and the fuselage.
Failure of some of the rivets to hold
this strip to the fuselage was noted.
