Presidential Approval of Production Schedule and Future Tests Mr. Lilienthal stated that the AFC production schedule for 1949 had been presented to the President by the Commission and the Secretary of Defense. The President took the matter under advisement. There followed a general discussion of actions in connection with the 1951 atomic bomb tests, It was generally agreed that formal approval in principle by the President would be required on the scope and the approximate date of the test.
