Slates of America in Congress assembled, That: The Congrcss heroby assumes compassionate responsibility to com pensate inhabitants in the Ronrclap Atoll, in the Trust Territory o the Pacific Islands, for rudiation exposures sustained by them as : result of a thermonuclear detonation at Bikini Atoll in the Marshal Islands on March 1, 1954. ° Sec. 2. There is authorized to be appropriated for such purpos. out of the Treasury of the United States the sum of $0950.1000 to ti expended by the Sccretary of the Interior (hereinarter referred.to a: the “Secretary”) in the manner hereinafter provided.
