Military Foreign Participation in Operation PLUMBBOR
1. In reference to the request of the Working Group at |the
neeting of 18 March 1957, for additional information as to foyeign
participation in Operation PLUMBBOB, the attached summary is
ffor-—
warded. It should be understood that this program has not bean
fully
approved within the Department and sore details of the extent jof the
progran are still in the planning stage. For this reason thiq should
be considered a rough outline of the program so that the Board can
properly consider the Information Plan for Operation PLUMBBOB J
2. In addition to the above, the following foreign participation
programs are being planned by the Department of Defense:
(a)
Steff representatives of the British Joint Serjices
Mission in Washington to observe and participate in Desert Rock
Exercises (-
(c) A separate RoyalCanadian Air Force observer group to
witness the MB-1 rocket shot (abottt 20).
