After the une

Avril, there were so many restrictions placed on ii-ht and overe-water fly-

ing that. i€practically stoned.

Personal examination by CTG 7.4 of re=

quests for such flichts res:lted in nany celays in getting TG 7.1 require-

ments accepted.

In manyevents, ‘articularly ‘Jahoo and Umbrella, the var-

ious scientific projects were hamstrung by the limitations on helicooter
operations,

This was relieved somewhat by use ofmarine helicopters which

had fewer overational limitations.

°

The major problem was that arrangements made tetreen the TG 7.1 and

TG 7. staffs were frequently cancelled by J7G 7.4 shortly Lefore the vlan~
ned t‘'me of execution.

To experimenters onerating on a closely timed

schedule of events, such cancell-tions were almost ruinous,

After many dis-

cussions between J=3 of TG 7.1, CTG 7.4, and finally J-3, JTF SEVEN, TG 7.t/
developed a noticatly less reluctant avproach toward supporting TG 7,1 re=
quirements,

This became evident during may; and, by the zee of June, the

situation had improvec to the point where staff level arrangements could
arain satisfy nost onerational requirements.
