and Bikini, and later at Johnston Island,

dent firing capa lity.
This operation found LASL devices detonated at Enivretok Atoll and UCRL
devices detonatec primarily at Bikini.

Hotrever, some UCRL devices were de-

tonated at Enitretok later in the operatio..

This was done principally becau:

of the more favorable firing weather at Enivetok.

The task croup staff sections moved to the EP3 well in advance of the
first planned ready cate in order to orient new staff sersonnel, to become
acquainted with their counterparts in the other tsk croups, to work out the

final details of t-e plan of operations, anc to expecite all matters of
construction, transportation and services woich would enatle the latoratories

to meet the first ready date.
In coordination with the other task croups >resent, standing operating

ocrocedures and schedles were drawn up for the different modes of transportation.

The principal chance irom tne orizinal concept of transporta~

tion control was the delegation to J-1, of the staff responsitility for
booking passengers on Reflector flizhts between Eniwetok and Eikini and to

the off atoll sites.
