Thus it appears probable that most of the existing control and signal
cable installed submarine will be usable for future operations.
Because
this existing cable is exposed onthe beach where brought ashore from the
lagoon in many cases, it is thus subject to possible damage by landing craft,
construction operation, etc.
That portion on shore and within two feet be-
low low tide will be repaired where necessary, grouped where feasible, placed
in a trench, and covered with sand and concrete.
Signs of sufficient size
will be posted to adequately mark all cable landings and trench locations.
