ORGANIZATION AND COMMAND RELATIONSHIPS J-Division of the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, Los Alamos, New Mexico is a permanent test unit within the Laboratory established to supervise experimental tests for the AEC and to assure continuity of plans for atomic testing programse In preparation for Operation IVY, J-Division became the nucleus of an organization which was expanded by the addition of civilian personnel from the AEC and AEC contractors and military personnel of JTF 132. In addition two military support units, Radiological Safety and Documentary Photography, were appended to the test group which was formally activated as Task Group 132.1 of Joint Task Force 132 on 2 January 1952.
