In the event the above policy is adopted, the FY 71 budget and future budgets should be increased by about $5, 000 over the usual $15, 000 to take care of the travel and per diem expenses of both the TT medical personnel and the Marshallese patients. If the above proposed arrangements for authorizing and reimbursing the TT for thelr medical personnel seem satisfactory, you may want to consider a visit to Saipan to work out the details, prior to the survey. if you would like someone from this office to accompany you, please let me know. As to the use of the Militobi for the survey, Keith Smith, Manager of KITCO of Majuro and owner of the Militobi, advised Bill Streenan that if we can give KITCO the itinerary, with dates of the survey by January 1, 1970, they can schedule your using the Militobi so it will not conflict with the TT Inter-Island schedule, Smith will coordinate the schedule with the Distad at Majuro and reserve cabin space for the AEC team. Scheduling the Militebi in this manner will be cheaper than a direct charter basis and barring some unforeseen circumstances you will not run the risk of your trip being changed or cancelled because of other TT use.
