He feit that the Communists had gained because Sukarno, father of the Na- tionalist Party, had withdrawn his support from that party, and that the Moslem parties had also lost strength. . Secretary Herter asked whether Sukarno had gone beyond the point of no return. Mr. Dulles replied in the affirmtive, saying that Sukarno had been impressed by his trip to Moscow, had concluded that the party system did not work, and would henceforth play the Cammmnist game.
