(4) All maintenance and operation costs in connection with the Eniwetok Atomic Proving Grounds, except those costs connected with the normal maintenance and operation of a military garrison. (5) Cost of all supplies and equipment, including conversion and reconversion thereof, procured from military stocks or commercial maintenance, sources and directly attributable to construction, activities or future tests at the Eniwetok Atomic Proving Grounds including freight charges on commercial carriers. (6) Special clothing or personal equipment if procurement is directly attributable to the maintenance, struction, con- activities or future tests at the Eniwetok Atomic Proving Grounds. b. The Armed Services will be responsible for the following expenditures: (1) All pay and allowance of military personnel, mileage and/or per diem chargeable to AEC except in accordance with paragraph 1 a (2) above. (2) All clothing or personal equipment for military personnel, except as outlined in paragraph 1 a (6) above and subsistence except while in a travel status chargeable to AEC in accordance with paragraph 1 a (2) above. (3) All transportation costs of military and civilian personnel, equipment and supplies on government-owned ships or aircraft, except per diem chargeable to AEC in accordance with paragraph 1 a (2) above. (4) All costs for research activities which may be conducted by the Armed Services which are not planned or requested by the AEC. (5) Equipment and supplies for military garrison which would normally be borne by the services involved. ~ 6 -
