the following positions 10° 47' North Latitude, 1699 13' East Latitude. Arrived at fhiwetok Atell, Marshall Islands andé anchored in
Eniwetok Lagom, anchorage area Alfé, berth Delta 2, at 1500, 11 May.

(a) Suitability ef available charts for assigned taska.
1. HO 2009 Rnivetok Lagom. Satisfactory. Ship's ferce had
te add anchorage Delta 2 te the chart since no correction
was available. A light m the southem tip of Parry Is
land would be a help in maintaining anchor bearings in
anchorage area Alpha.

2. HO 6033 Baiwetok Atell md approaches - Satisfactery.
3. HO 6029 Rengelap Atoll - Satisfactory.
4. HO 2010 East Central part of Riwetok Atoll - Satisfactory.

(b) Adequacy of buoyage and other navigational aide.
1. FaiwetokAtol s Recommend additien of some type of light m
the southern tip of Parry Islmd. This weuld be an aid in
maintaining anchorage at night. Flashing green channel
buoy No. 1 in East channel is too weak to see from a distance. It is also recommended that a buoy be placed m the
four and one half fathom shoal spot in the East central

part of the Lagom at Latitude 11°°23120'N, Longitude

162° 20' 108 B and on the me and oe half fathom shoal

spot at Latitude 11° 23.6' N, Longitude 162® 20' E,

2. Bikini Atolls

Recommend the additim of some type of

light om the north tower (weodem tower) to aid in naviga-

tim at night.
