Ye), 4OROLS BROOKHAVEN NATIONAL LABORATORY ASSOCIATED UNIVERSITIES, INC.. UPTON, LL, NY. 11973 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT | | Teuernone: (516) 345- 3577 October 18, 1974 a Col, Edward J. Kamin (MC) USA Chief of Medicine Hawatian Tripler Army Medical Center APO San Francisco 96557 Dear Colonel Kamin: You will recall that in the past you have been kind enough to help us with some examinations on Marshall Islanders. At this time we have four post-surgical thyroid cancer cases that need examinations to rule out recurrence of their disease. In addition we have a 20 year old girl who was exposed in-utero during the frist trimester and at the time of the last examinations, the examining physician felt that the . girl might have an endocrine problem, since she claims to have only menstruated one time and she appears somewhat infantile. In view of her exposure history an endocrinological work-up seems indicated. I am enclosing past medical data on these five cases, Dr. Knud Knudsen and I expect to bring these cases to Tripler Dec, 10th if agreeable. We plan-to be on hand for the couple of days necessary for the examinations. Mr. William Streenan of the AEC office in Honolulu will be in touch with your administrative officer about arrangements. Hope you can help us out with these examinations. Look forward to seeing you again. With best regards, Sincerely, RAC: im cc: Mr. Wm.
