COMMANDER, JOINT TASK FORCE THREB ~ REPORT ON
OPERATION GREENHOUSE
By memorandum dated August 1, 1951, the Commander, Joint Task
Force Three furnished the Commission his report on completion
of Operation GREENHOUSE. One of his recommendations was that,
subject to comments of the Atomlo Energy Commission, Joint Task
Force Three be inactivated by the Joint Chiefs of Staff as of
September 30, 1951.
We have informed the Commander, Joint Task Force Three, that we
have no objection to the recommended inactivation date. During
the temporary existence of two task forces connected with overseas
tests, we will consider Joint Task Force 132 as the ourrent Task
Foroe, and will deal with Major General P. W. Clarkson, USA, as
the Commander thereof,
