" WHEREAS, it is now twenty-five years since the United — States tested atomic and hy¢rogen bombs; and WHEREAS, the people of Rongerik knew that the fallout from the testing on Bikinis affected Rongerik 3 and WHEREAS, during these twenty-five years, the Rongerikese_ na people have not been able to return to Rongerlk but have been woaonyw living on various atolls such as Rongelap and Kwajalein; and So ww & WwW NF Expressing the displeasure of the Marshall Islands Nitijela ta the Covernment of the United States for the treatment of the chiefs and their people regarding their atoll, nongerik Atoll. and Utirik also fell on Rongerik; and that the harm done to those WHEREAS, the chiefs and the people strongly believe that ra during the testing of the bombs, the ashes which fell on Rongelep TWO atolls’ was also done toRevcert*: a-4 Ak ' WHEREAS, the chiefs and their people lack any scientific Knowledge to determine if there is radiation in the soil, the forestry, the crops and the fish in the surrounding sea or to determine whether Rongerik is safe enough for them to return and live; and.
