Propulsion Equipment All propulsion equipment shall be properly maintained. Main- tenance checks and servicing shall be recorded in the vessel's log. b. Malfunctions All malfunctions and breakdowns shall be logged. c. Fuel Systems All fuel tanks and associated equipment shall be inspected routinely. Diesel fuel tank additives should be used to combat water accumula- tion and bacteria growth. Bypass fuel filters shall be installed to facilitate “underway'! switch over. d.
