taining to paint samples receive from Bikini.

26 September 1946, It is the belief of this office that the information contained in these reports justify a TOP SECRET classification
and have been marked according ly.
2. This office now has in its possession copies 1 through 4,
Series A and it is the understanding that you have retained copy 5
for your files. This officehs authenticated these documents per
authority of Col. K. D. NICHOLS and the code number designated for
the Berkeley Area Office is XXIV. If you would oblige us by mrking
your copy No. 5, TOP SECRET; by mthority of the District Engineer,
per Col. K. D. NICHOLS, XKIV-12~5a, the records of this office on this
matter would be complete. We are also interested to kmow if any series
other than A have been reproduced at Santa Fe and would desire confirmation of destruction of original manuscript,
