Y wish to extend to you an invitation to join me in a trip
I plan to wake to Eniwetok to witness one or more shots in
the nuclear test series which comaences May i.
I plan to make the trio during the last two weeks of June,
probably departing “ashington on about June 15 so as to

arrive in the forward area at a vime t» parmit witnessing

the detonation of one of sur megaton test devices. In
general, the trip will follow a schedule of three daya
spent en route Eniwetok (with overnight stops at Travis
Air Force fase in California amd Hickay Air force Base in

Hawaii), a stay of four days in the Pacific Proving Ground
area, and a period of four days spent on the return trip.
All told, the time away from Washington will be about
eleven or twelve days.
Allen fulles, Cillien Anderson, and Bill Jackson are planning
to make the trip with me and you would be a welcome addition
ta the party.
In the event you should be unable te join us but should like
to go out at another tine, suitable arrangeaents could be
made. For your information, there are six observer trips
scheduled, the first departing on about April 26 and the
others following at about fifteen day intervals thereafter.
Please let me know if you will be able to join me or if
