Attached for your review is a paper prepared by Hubertus
Strughold, PHD, MD, Chief, Department of Space Medioine, USAF
School of Aviation Medicine, Randolph Field, Texas, on “Medical
Problems Involved in Orbital Space Flight." The paper is to be
given at the Space Medicines Session, American Rocket Society
Anmal Meeting, at the Diamond Jubilee Anmal Meeting of The
American Society of Mechanical Enginsers, in Chicago, Illinois,
November 13-18.
As this paper relates to satellites, I have reviewed it with
the National Solence Foundation and the National Academy. The
Department of Defense proposes to release the attached paper and thie
action ie concurred in by the National Academy and the Science Founda~
tion, subject to our instructing the author that he mst in no way
relate this paper or his addrese to the current scientific satellite
progran.
