CONTROL AND SIGNAL SYSTEM

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

The following paragraphs

of Section 15 of these specifications shall apply to

this section: 15-01,

SUBMARINE CONTROL AND SIGNAL CABLE:
The submarine control and signal cable shall comply with Navy
Department United States Coast Guard Specification No.

S$-254-42, Ten-Conductor Armored Control Cable Issue —
(October 1, 1942) including Master Specifications Nosy

5-219 Inspection and Testing of Rubber-Insulated Cables,
5-235 Galvanized Armor Wire for Submarine Cable, and

S-255 Synthetic Insulation for Submarine Cables.

GENERAL:

These specifications cover the manufacture

of submarine control cable, consisting of ten No. 14
AWG stranded copper conductors, with 3/64" colored
plastic insulation, type, 5/64" plastic jacket, tape,
50 pound cutched jute serve, No.

10 BWG armor, and

16/3 ply impregnated jute outer serve.

CONDUCTORS:
